Alan grew up in West Vancouver. His family has been in Vancouver since 1903. His grandmother took swimming lessons from Joe Fortes when reaching English Bay required a hike through the woods, and his uncle attended boarding school in the teens in what was called “Upper Lonsdale”. Alan was an active tennis and squash player, and with his racquet sport buddies and their aching joints, has switched to golf. He lives on the North Shore with his wife, family therapist and cancer survivorship counselor Lee Crawford, and their Bernese Mountain Dog, Bella (who greets clients at the office at least two days a week). Alan is keenly interested in music (ask for a compilation CD of one-hit wonders from the 60’s), travel, summering in Penticton, and other varied pursuits when he leaves the office.
