Spectrum Continuity Planning Ltd was founded in 2018 by Alan Leader, as a result of witnessing two separate experiences that involved a lack of “continuity planning”. “Continuity Planning” involves putting the client and his family, friends, and business associates in a position of being able to smoothly move forward from an unexpected poor health event. It is not just about insurance and money. It is about how the client affects other people.
Alan started in the insurance business in 1976 with a major Canadian life insurance company. He started selling disability insurance to his clients in 1980, when only a handful of life insurance agents did so, and for years was a consistent top producer for the largest Canadian disability insurance company. He became an independent broker in 1983, and the bulk of his work became life insurance and disability insurance planning for Medical Specialists.
In addition to working with Medical Specialists, client groups evolved to include other professionals, entrepreneurs, independent business owners, executives, and the wealthy.
Providing special benefit plans to professional associations became another focus of Alan’s business.
As an independent broker, we use many different insurance companies to provide products to our clients. Most life and disability insurance agents and brokers are also “financial planners”. We are happy to restrict our business to insurance, as we believe it’s impossible to be great at everything. Along the same line, we also are happy to go outside our firm to work with other insurance experts, when their specialized knowledge and experience will help our clients.
